Our CPR class structures are hands-on, comprehensive, and easy to follow. Upon completion of each of our classes, students are provided with an official certification. Thereโs no better way to learn CPR than practicing it over and over to build muscle memory, thatโs why we always provide one manikin for each student, and everyone will get to perform all the skills we teach. We are not only providing you with a certification, we are teaching you a life-saving skill.
We prepare our students with the exact information and skills they need to ace every course. We take what we do seriously. Our vision is to see people from all walks of life equipped with the knowledge and skills to save lives at home, in public and in the workplace.
The full class (includes adult, child and infant instruction) has a total duration of five hours. Two hours dedicated to first aid learning, including bleeding control, use of a tourniquet and hemostatic dressings, sudden injury, strokes, chest pain, diabetic emergencies, seizures, asthma, severe allergic reactions, heat illness, poisoning, opioid overdose, to name a few. The other three hours are for CPR (adult, child, infant), AED use, multiple rescuer dynamics and choking. This class is recommended for students 12 years and older.
Following completion of the class, the certification you receive will be valid for two years from the month of the training date.
ย How you can prepare for our classes:
- ย The class will be very interactive and require the students to move around, so wear something comfortable that allows you to move and kneel down next to the manikin. We will provide one knee pad per student for the duration of the CPR and AED skills.
- ย Rescue Training Institute commits to providing reasonable accommodation for students who require it. Please communicate any need to us ahead of time, if possible.
- ย Bring any food you might need, we encourage students to bring snacks and eat them while we teach. We always have tea, coffee and water available for everyone, we have drinks covered!
- ย We will distribute handouts with important information for you to take home. If you like to take your own notes, bring a notepad and pen – we encourage notes too!
- ย Our instructors will start and finish the class on time. If the student is late to class we might not be able to admit them, so please arrive early.
- ย We will have a couple of short breaks during class to grab a snack, use the restroom, answer emails etc.
How we prepare for classes:
- We prepare manikins, knee pads, AEDs, and all other training equipment for use. All our manikins get sterilized between uses with bleach wipes and gloves are also available for any student that would like to wear them during practice.
- The classroom will be set up when the students arrive with chairs, tables, and all equipment necessary for class.
- There will be audio, visual and interactive components for each class.
How should you prepare if we are teaching in your location:
- ย Our best classes are taught with enough space for the students to move around, roughly 6 square feet per student with moveable furniture. This amount of space allows us to simulate real-life scenarios and help the students navigate possible emergencies.
- ย We ask that tables and chairs be set up when we arrive. Our instructors will be at the location 30 minutes prior to the start time. We will bring and build all manikins, AV equipment (if not provided), and any other teaching equipment we will need.
- ย Our staff is always punctual and will follow the times agreed on. Please inform the students that we might be unable to admit tardy students.
Once the class is finished, we will email all students a certification card valid for two years with access to the digital book. The class book will include all the information covered in class and lots of additional information. *
